I have spent 30 years in business managing engineering businesses from a sales and marketing, financial, and leadership perspective. I have experienced the business cycles of growth and recession, the highs and lows of management buyouts, acquisitions, and disposals. I understand what it takes to be resilient, and enjoy the journey.
Throughout my career, I have championed UK Manufacturing and the North East. We are a country and region with a rich history of being highly innovative and we need to build on this to have a successful future. I now share my passion by helping others and showcasing the best of what we do.
I started my life as an adventurer at 57, rowing the Atlantic, and I am now part of the NWP2021 team planning on being the first to row the Arctic's Northwest Passage in a single season. It is never too late to try something new, taking risks is not something to be scared of, enjoy the ride.
It is always nice to try something new. Whilst I have rowed on rivers and oceans here I am training for the British Coastal Rowing Championships in Dorset. Change is as good as a rest!
Doing something for the local community is always a good thing. In 2020 I rowed, slept, and ate in my garage, 24/7 for 14 days, raising money for charities that help the NHS in the community. #RowinaGarage
With my recent adventures on the ocean I have developed my social media skills and as a guest speaker, and been supported on my journey by the BBC, ITV, and local written media.
